Settings

Policy & Authority

Policy Controls settings allow you to configure default workflow behavior for each policy request type and manage tenant-level policy lifecycle preferences. These settings establish the baseline process that applies to all policies unless overridden at the individual policy level.

Settings configure the default workflows designed in the Workflows builder. Workflows are triggered when Policy Requests are submitted.

Accessing settings

Navigate to Policy Lifecycle > Settings to open the PolicyLifecycleWorkflowSettingsContent page.

Workflow configuration per request type

Configure the default workflow for each of the five request types:

Request TypeConfiguration
CREATEWorkflow for new policy creation requests
UPDATEWorkflow for policy modification requests
RETIREWorkflow for policy retirement requests
PUBLISHWorkflow for publishing approved policies
REVIEWWorkflow for scheduled policy review cycles

For each request type, you can:

  • Assign the default workflow template
  • Set the approval stages and role assignments
  • Configure notification triggers
  • Define escalation timeouts

Tenant-level defaults

Settings configured here apply as defaults across all policies in the tenant. Individual policies can override these defaults from their own settings when a unique approval process is required. When a policy request is submitted, SecureHive checks for a policy-level workflow override first; if none exists, the tenant-level default is used.

Role mapping

Map workflow stage roles to your organization’s actual team structure. This ensures that workflow stages route to the correct reviewers and approvers based on current team membership from the Operating Model. When team membership changes, role-mapped workflows automatically adjust without requiring manual updates to each workflow.
