Members Chart
Control & DirectionThe Members Chart is an interactive, node-edge diagram that visualizes individual team members and their reporting relationships across your security organization. Built with ReactFlow, it provides a detailed people-level view that complements the team-level Team Chart. Navigate to Operating Model → Members Chart to open the visualization.
The Members Chart reflects team membership defined in Team Management. For a higher-level view of team hierarchy without individual members, see the Team Chart.
Chart layout
The Members Chart renders each team member as an individual node, with edges (connecting lines) representing reporting relationships and team groupings. Unlike the Team Chart, which shows one card per team, the Members Chart breaks teams down to the person level.
Member nodes
Each member node displays the individual’s name and their role within the team. Nodes are grouped visually by team, making it easy to see which people belong to which organizational unit.
Reporting relationships
Edges connect members to their team’s manager and connect managers up through the team hierarchy. These lines trace the reporting chain from individual contributors through team leads to senior leadership, giving you a complete view of how accountability flows through your organization.
Team groupings
Members belonging to the same team are clustered together in the diagram. The team’s color (as defined in Team Management) is applied to the grouping, providing a visual cue that ties the Members Chart back to the color conventions used across the platform.
Interactive features
The Members Chart is fully interactive, supporting standard diagram navigation controls:
| Action | Description |
|---|---|
| Pan | Click and drag on the canvas background to move around the diagram |
| Zoom | Use the scroll wheel or pinch gesture to zoom in and out |
| Select | Click on a member node to highlight it and its connections |
| Fit to view | Use the controls to reset the view and fit the entire diagram on screen |
These controls make it practical to navigate large organizations. You can zoom into a specific team cluster to examine its members, then zoom out to see the full organizational picture.
Difference from Team Chart
The Team Chart and Members Chart serve complementary purposes:
| Aspect | Team Chart | Members Chart |
|---|---|---|
| Unit of display | One card per team | One node per individual member |
| Focus | Organizational structure and team-level metrics | People, roles, and reporting lines |
| Layout | Hierarchical tree (top-down) | Interactive node-edge diagram (ReactFlow) |
| Best for | Reviewing team structure, coverage, and workload distribution | Understanding who reports to whom, identifying individuals, and tracing accountability paths |
Use the Team Chart for a structural overview and the Members Chart when you need to see exactly who is on each team and how reporting lines connect across the organization.
Use cases
RACI mapping — Review the Members Chart alongside your control and risk assignments to verify that every individual has a clear set of responsibilities and that no single person is overloaded with ownership across too many areas.
Resource planning — Visualize team sizes and reporting depth to identify teams that may be understaffed relative to their scope. The people-level view makes it easy to spot gaps that a team-level chart might obscure.
Cross-team coordination — Trace reporting relationships across teams to understand how escalation paths work in practice. When an incident or audit finding spans multiple teams, the Members Chart shows exactly who is involved and how they connect.
Permissions
Viewing the Members Chart is available to all users with access to the Operating Model module. Adding or removing the members that appear in the chart requires team management permissions as described in Team Management.
