Reports
Control & DirectionThe Reports page provides data export capabilities for project and task information. Generate CSV or PDF exports to share execution data with stakeholders, feed into external reporting tools, or create offline records for audit and compliance purposes.
Reports draw data from Projects and Tasks & Milestones. Use Portfolios to organize projects before exporting for cleaner, grouped reporting.
Accessing reports
Navigate to Execution Tracking > Reports to open the reports page. The page is organized into two tabs, each focused on a different data set.
Project data tab
The Project Data tab exports information at the project level. The export includes fields such as project name, status, priority, portfolio, category, start date, end date, target completion date, budget, actual cost, owner, project type, and lifecycle stage. Use this tab when you need a summary view of all projects or a filtered subset for executive reporting.
Task data tab
The Task Data tab exports information at the task level. The export includes fields such as task name, status, assigned user, project name, start date, due date, completed date, priority, estimated hours, actual hours, task type, test confirmation status, section, and tags. Use this tab when you need detailed work-item data for resource planning, time tracking analysis, or operational reviews.
Export formats
Both tabs support two export formats:
| Format | Best for |
|---|---|
| CSV | Importing into spreadsheets, databases, or business intelligence tools for further analysis. CSV files contain raw tabular data that can be filtered, pivoted, and charted in tools like Excel or Google Sheets. |
| Sharing formatted reports with stakeholders who need a ready-to-read document. PDF exports include structured tables with headers and are suitable for email distribution or archival. |
Select the desired format and click Export to generate and download the file.
Filtering before export
The data displayed on each tab reflects the current filters applied in the Execution Tracking module. Apply filters on the project list or task list before navigating to the reports page to control which records are included in the export. This allows you to generate targeted reports for specific portfolios, statuses, date ranges, or categories without exporting the entire data set.
Permissions
Accessing the reports page requires the projects:read permission. Users with this permission can view and export project and task data. The exported data respects project-level privacy settings; private projects are only included in exports for users who are members of those projects or have administrative access.
