Criteria Library

Control & Direction

The Criteria Library is a centralized collection of reusable evaluation criteria that can be applied across multiple platform evaluations. Instead of defining criteria from scratch each time, you build a library of standardized criteria with default weights and tags, then pull them into individual evaluations as needed. This ensures consistency across assessments and reduces setup time.

The Criteria Library integrates with Evaluations (criteria reuse via source library item linkage).

Library page

Navigate to Platform Evaluation > Criteria Library to view all library items. The page displays criteria in a list with their name, description, default weight, and tags. Use tags to filter and organize criteria by category such as security, integration, cost, scalability, or compliance.

Creating a library item

Open the creation form

Click New Criteria from the Criteria Library page to open the creation dialog.

Provide criteria details

Fill in the following fields:

FieldDescriptionRequired
NameA concise label for the criterion (e.g., “API Integration Depth”)Yes
DescriptionA detailed explanation of what the criterion measures and how it should be scoredNo
Default WeightThe default relative importance of this criterion, used as a starting point when the criterion is added to an evaluationNo
TagsCategorization labels for filtering and organization (e.g., “security”, “cost”, “scalability”)No

Save

Click Save to add the criterion to the library. It is now available for use in any evaluation.

Using library items in evaluations

When adding criteria to an evaluation, you can select items from the Criteria Library instead of defining them manually. The criterion’s name, description, and default weight are copied into the evaluation, and a source library item link is maintained so you can trace the criterion back to its library origin. After being added, the criterion’s weight can be adjusted on the evaluation without affecting the library item.

Managing the library

Library items can be edited to update their name, description, default weight, or tags at any time. Changes to a library item do not retroactively affect criteria that have already been added to evaluations — those are independent copies. This means you can refine your library definitions over time without disrupting evaluations that are already in progress or completed.

Organize your library with consistent tags to make it easy for evaluation creators to find relevant criteria. Common tag categories include security capabilities, vendor maturity, integration quality, cost and licensing, support and SLA, and compliance alignment.

Permissions

Managing the Criteria Library requires the platformEvaluation:manage permission. Users with this permission can create, edit, and delete library items. Users with read-only access can view library items and use them when creating evaluation criteria.
