Team Goals
Control & DirectionTeam Goals translate CISO-level strategic objectives into concrete deliverables assigned to specific teams. Each Team Goal links to a parent CISO Goal, ensuring that team-level work stays aligned with the security program’s strategic direction. Team Goals further cascade into Individual Goals, completing the chain from strategy to personal contribution.
Team Goals link upward to CISO Goals and downward to Individual Goals. They integrate with Project Management (task linking) and Operating Model (team assignments). Progress is reflected on the Goals Dashboard.
Managing Team Goals
Navigate to Objectives & Outcomes > Team Goals to view all team-level goals. The list uses an editable table with inline editing support, so you can update statuses, dates, and assignments directly from the list view.
Filtering and search
Use the Search and Filter Bar to narrow the list. Available filters include:
- Status — Filter by one or more goal statuses
- Team — Filter by the assigned team
Filtering by parent CISO Goal
The Team Goals list supports a query parameter for filtering by parent CISO Goal. When you navigate from a CISO Goal’s detail page, the URL includes ?cisoGoalId= to show only the Team Goals that support that specific strategic objective. This makes it easy to drill down from a CISO Goal to see all the team-level work behind it.
Creating a Team Goal

Click New Team Goal or navigate to Objectives & Outcomes > Team Goals > New.

Status lifecycle
Team Goals share the same status set as CISO Goals:
| Status | When to use |
|---|---|
| Not Started | Goal has been defined but no work has begun |
| In Progress | The team is actively working toward the deliverable |
| On Track | Work is progressing and expected to meet the target date |
| At Risk | Progress has stalled or the deadline is in jeopardy |
| Completed | The team deliverable has been achieved |
| Cancelled | The goal has been withdrawn |
Update the status inline from the list view or from the goal detail page.
Linking to project tasks
Team Goals can be linked to Project Tasks from the Execution Tracking module. This connection ties the goal to specific work items, making it possible to see whether the tasks required to achieve the goal are progressing. Related task IDs are stored on the Team Goal record and visible from the detail page.
Cascading to Individual Goals
Each Team Goal can be broken down into one or more Individual Goals. When creating an Individual Goal, select the parent Team Goal to establish the link. This completes the three-tier hierarchy: CISO Goal to Team Goal to Individual Goal.
Navigate to Individual Goals to manage personal contributions that support team deliverables.
